I HAVE BEEN PLAYING HOOKEY

I have been absent due to a serious case of hookey fun and it is all due to these wonderful blog sites.

My lys (local yarn shops) are loving it.

I take my stash outside, under a tree, with a glass of ice cold lemonade and crochet as I listen to summer buzz around me. It is heaven and I am loving it.

This is my first bag from Lucy @ attic 24.
It was humongous. Lots of fun, but HUGE.
You could use this as a car top carrier.
I call this my Olivia bag as my granddaughter loves it.

This bag is much smaller, used smaller hook and less rounds. More my style.

After visiting Ravelry daily, I saw this little cutie by Susan B Anderson and of course had to do one. This is a real simple pattern and fun to do. My hands were achy and tired from all the crochet, so I thought I try knitting for a spell.

I wonder if she would like to go to the state fair.

I am currently working up these cuties for my granddaughters.
Pattern is from itty-bitty toys by Susan B Anderson.

They don't get much cutier than this.

and.......I have this yummy project waiting from me outside on the deck right now.

No this is not a crochet or knitting blog, but it sure is a lot of fun.
Hope you are having as much fun as I am this summer.

Apple hit one out of the ball park with this one.

Here is a little of what I have been playing with.

This is way to fun and easy.

I definitely have lots more to learn

but

it is so much fun

and

the only hard part is

stopping to do necessary

life stuff......

More reading.

Wow, I am on a reading kick and can't seem to stop. Two more really good books. After reading Saving CeCe Honeycutt, I just didn't want to leave the South. So I read the Kitchen House, while this is a really good page turner, it is very tragic.
Then I moved on to Prayers for Sale, another great read. Both books I would recommend.

Nope this is not a reading blog, but it is what I am doing at the moment. I am also knitting socks again, and will post my results very soon.

We were lucky enough to be at the cottage this past weekend. Trees are just starting to pop out, but it is still spring in northern Michigan and that means summer is not far behind. Our daughter's family helped us spring clean the cottage inside and out which was awesome. Believe it or not, the kids actually went in Lake Huron which had ice only a month ago. They weren't in very long, but it was a very hot day and after all that cleaning they thought a quick dip would be just the ticket. It was fun to watch and we had warm beach towels ready when they came out.

We have no internet at the cottage and I am checking into the Ipad. This looks like it will be my answer as I do not have to sign a contract for the 3 g network. Things are really looking up.

Hope you are having a wonderful spring too.

Great Read

I read this book in 2 days. Wow. It is wonderful. If you loved the HELP you will love this book. It is a Southern charmer. The characters are rich and fascinating. You will laugh and cry with this wonderful, hard-to-put down book.

Now I don't have a book to read, any suggestions?

Finished

I have finally finished my squares for the stitch along which is a good thing as the weather is too irresistible to stay inside. This was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it.
Learned a lot of new stitches and it was so much fun seeing all the other talented artists.
Now I am going for a walk with Heidi who is begging to go outside.

I have been eyeing up these beauties as something to keep my hands busy while watching baseball games.
