RAINY DAY MAGIC

It is cold and rainy outside and I felt like curling up with a book, so I put the kettle on for a cup of tea and read Two Rivers by T. Greenwood. My favorite book store in northern Michigan, Logmark, recommended this book. Wow what a great read, highly recommend it and what a delicious afternoon. I sure would like to see this made into a movie.

BIRTHDAY FUN

I am playing with my new Nikon D40 and having a great time. I am out of control taking pictures. As we live in the country, I decided to take my new camera and drive down the country roads. Cars have either passed or follow me to make sure that I am not up to anything (like dumping trash). So if you see me in your neighborhood, don't worry, I am just taking pictures, lots of pictures.

I also have been altering some of my new pictures with photoshop elements and TtV lens.

Old country fence that is just down the road from us looked so pretty today.

Now when you are just six months old, it is hard to understand why you are not included in this expedition. So for a little while, I will play with the offended six-month old, or pay a price.

ENJOYING SUMMER

Enjoying the first days of summer with a boat ride on Black Lake.

Having fun with TtV pictures. Lots to learn, but a lot of fun.

I will blog more after I check the mail, feed the cats, turn up the AC.

JUNE

Love this book http://www.amazon.com/dp/159253516X/?tag=googhydr-20&hvadid=3600428159&ref=pd_sl_37b9wt5p2c_e   and in it I came across this quote "What is one to say about June? The time of perfect young summer. The fulfillment of the promise of the early months and with as yet no sign to remind one that its fresh young beauty will ever fade.
Even though we are having a cool spring and yes I saw snow in the Dakota's in the weekend news,  June is here and I want to celebrate it.

Coffee Affair

Those were the days.  Starbucks with their wonderful selection.  I have since switched to tea to start my day.  Teavana  www.Teavana.com is my new addiction, but I still love the Starbucks atmosphere and wonderful aroma.  I just wished they would make an unsweetened soy latte.

This little mini quilt was inspired by taking an on-line class with Susan Sorrell at  http://www.creativechick.com/classes2.html

So much fun.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

ALTERED GAS PUMP

I know 2 posts in one day, but I am loving this blogging thing.

OLD AND RUSTY

I love finding vintage treasurers tucked in plain view.  Were times really simpler in those days?  I don't think so.  I love playing with them in photoshop though.

IMPATIENTLY WAITING

I look everyday, but I still have not seen a monarch.

I know that they are around because I found milkweed over the memorial day weekend and yes there were monarch eggs on the leaves.  So I took the precious leaves with eggs, put them in a safe environment and viola, I have 4 little monarch larvae.  They are growing everyday.  I have plenty of milkweed to keep them satisfied.

In a week or so, they should mature and I will at last see my first adult monarch of the 2009 season.
